Game Review: Killer Bunnies is a card game, but more in the sense of it being like a "trading card game" than a standard card game. It reminds me of those strange Pokemon or Yugioh card games that young boys seem to like so well. Of course the twist here is that instead of fantastic creatures, you're dealing with...well....Bunnies! Probably one of the funnest things about this game is the cool graphics on the cards of all of the different Bunnies and their amazing weapons and other special cards. You might find yourself being attacked by the whimsical Whisk or a torching Flame Thrower! Defend your Bunnies with the Magic Spatula or use a Feed the Bunny card to starve out an opponent. My kids really seemed to enjoy this game; they loved seeing all the different cards and finding out which ones they would get when the cards were dealt or taken from the pile. The downside of this game is that it is quite complex. There are a lot of rules, and you kind of need to have the instruction sheet close at hand the first time or two you play. Once you get rolling, however, it seems to get easier, and I found my kids asking to play this game over and over. We even went out and got a few sets of the booster decks to supplement the game, although I felt we hardly needed them. The starter set has plenty to keep you busy for quite a while. I think the price is a little high for a card game, but given the enjoyment my kids got out of playing, I guess it's worth it, if this is the type of game your family would enjoy.
