Game Review (Detail): A simple, yet almost endlessly entertaining game. The basic premise is this: one player gets a turn to be the “Whoozit” during each round. The other players choose from the cards they have been dealt the item or items they believe the “Whoozit” will like best. The “Whoozit” doesn’t know who has given him/her which cards, and places them in order from most favorite to least. The least favorite card gets 1 point, the next 2 points, the next 3, and so forth up to 6 points. These points are represented by numbered “chips” – if the Whoozit puts one of your cards next to the number 1, you get that chip, for example. At the end of the game, players add up their chips to see who has scored the most. The game is over when each player has had a chance to be the Whoozit, and all chips have been awarded.
This game was an unexpected hit with my family, primarily I believe because it requires so little setup and has pretty much zero learning curve. Everyone seems to get a kick out of trying to pick the best cards to represent the “Whoozit” on each round, and there are always lots of laughs, catcalls, and secondguessing when the order of the cards are revealed. Who knew that the husband prefers broccoli to shopping malls? My son is afraid of haunted houses but marching bands get a big thumbs-up? And so on.
